Dear Friends, It’s so wonderful to be able to communicate with you again. I will go a step further and say that it’s good to be alive and well in this age of swine flu and surgeries and the daily challenges of life. Thank you God that I’m here and well. So here is what has been happening since our last report to you our friends and partners.
Oral Roberts University Tulsa Ok – March 5-7th I had the esteemed pleasure of serving as guest speaker for Chapel service on the 6th. Angie and I had a tremendous time as we got to re-unite with old friends and students from the Bahamas, not to mention see our daughter Davrielle who is just completing her freshman year at ORU. It was a double pleasure as we got to spend time with Dean Clarence Boyd and my friends from ORU Mike Hairston and Jeff Lee. We heard so many reports of students being blessed and touched by the message and testimony.
Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute March 14th
Pastor Dave served as guest speaker to talk to students on the topic “Steps to Peak Performance”. Many were encouraged as Pastor Dave shared from a motivational and business perspective what it takes to be a peak performer
Youth Empowerment Event March 19th –
Pastor Dave served as guest speaker for a very exciting Event organized by the Bahamas Baptist Community College. This event featured motivational and inspirational sessions for students. Pastor Dave shared on “Sex and Dating” and “Media Impact on Youth”. The sessions proved to be very fruitful as students asked questions and voiced their approval.
North Dallas Community Bible Fellowship Dallas TX– April 3-6th Pastor Dave served as guest speaker for the annual purity conference and also shared in a special session for Parents on “Understanding Today’s Teenagers”. He also was guest for the GTN live TV broadcast hosted by Pastor Darrell Wilson and as guest speaker for the Sunday morning service at House on the Rock, Dallas.
Cathedral of Olive, Andros Bahamas – April 22-23rd Pastor Dave travelled to Andros to serve as guest speaker for the Cathedral of Olive Family Conference. He began by sharing with students at the National Service program and later travelled to Central Andros to speak at the High School where he shared on the “Power of Positive Choices”. Later he shared at the Family conference on “Understanding Today’s Teenagers” This event proved to be an excellent first step for North Andros and the Cathedral of Olive as they attempt to make an impact on the youth and families in the area
Acquire the Fire – Tampa FL – April 24-27th
Pastor Dave and Angie along with Minister Corey Rolle (DJ Counsellor) and Jawara Pierre led a team of youth to this annual event hosted by Ron Luce and Teen Mania. Once again Bahamian Youth were blessed and inspired as they joined thousands of youth from Florida in Praising the Lord “youth style” in drama, music and inspirational teaching sessions. As a part of the trip the group visited Crossover Church with Pastor Tommy “Urban D” K, who shared his vision of reaching youth from the Hip Hop culture. DJ Counsellor hit it off with “The Real Superman” music track and Pastor Dave greeted the church and encouraged them to make the most of every day.
